Cubertou is something special! Sleeping up to 23, its golden stone farmhouse, barns and tower are arranged around a grassed courtyard in an exceptionally quiet location, at the end of a drive winding through 25 acres of meadows and woodland. Cubertou is regularly used for activity holidays (painting, music, yoga…) or for those special family celebrations, including weddings.

Previously run as a summer arts school for over 30 years by a painter and his ballet dancer wife, Cubertou has bags of character and charm, but creature comforts are not neglected.

The house, with its vine-shaded terrace, sleeps 8, opposite a huge barn for candle-lit suppers and welcome deep shade on hot summer days.

The long barn sleeps up to 8 more, plus two in the delightful pine gallery rooms in the tower.

And the square barn has a huge “family” loft room, sleeping up to 4, and a tiny round stone room sleeping one more That’s up to 23 in total ! but remember whatever your needs you’ll have the place to yourselves.

For nature lovers the orchids in the meadows, masses of butterflies and birds and the occasional deer by day, and light pollution free skies by night, are a delight.

BBQ, ping-pong, badminton, "boules" (French bowls), board games and music are provided. Sporty? Swimming, canoeing/kayaking, horse-riding, bike hire, rock climbing are all within easy reach.

Above all, Cubertou is perfectly placed to explore the medieval villages and castles, prehistoric caves, Romanesque masterpieces... and Cahors vineyards for which the area is justly famous.

Enjoy local produce, including goose and duck, walnut oil and goat’s cheese, from the local markets which still thrive in this gastronomic paradise.

We can usually arrange for a local housekeeper/cook/babysitter to drop in if you need her. Everything else is included (utilities, linen, tourist tax…) in our incredible value for money rates.
