The interior is in a contemporary style with whitewashed pine panelled walls, terracotta tiled floors and traditional Savoie touches. The owners have finished the apartment with subtle lighting, complementary fabrics, and dark wood framed black and white mountain pictures and photographs. The intention is to create a smart modern interior with elements of the traditional reflected in the overall look.

LOCATION

Les Houches is 6km from Chamonix, ideally located to explore all that the Chamonix Valley has to offer. This tranquil village sits at the beginning of the Chamonix Valley and enjoys stunning views of the Mount Blanc Massif from beautiful woodland trails that meander their way down to the valley floor. With its spectacular backdrop of soaring peaks and sweeping glaciers, it combines the charm and friendliness of a traditional alpine village with the splendor of the high mountain scenery.

The ski area is the largest linked area in the Chamonix Valley. The varied gradient of runs make it particularly family friendly and is ideal for beginners to advanced skiers. Les Houches is just one hour from Geneva and 6km from Chamonix town. There is a regular bus service with the bus stop right outside your door. The Kandahar apartment is in an ideal location right at the end of the piste, so you can ski
down to your pad at the end of the day.

The village of Les Houches is quieter than nearby Chamonix but has its own unique character, typical of a rural French village. There is an old core with a pretty church and weekly market in the village square. Other amenities include restaurants, a few local bars, a boulangerie and a well stocked supermarket. The helpful tourist office is located on
the village square opposite the church, only a stone’s throw away.
